Tickets are now on sale for the off-Broadway world premiere of Liz Flahive's The Madrid. Directed by Leigh Silverman, the Manhattan Theatre Club production stars Emmy winner and Tony nominee Edie Falco. Performances begin February 5 at New York City Center Stage I, with opening night set for February 26.
The Madrid is a story about motherhood, freedom and trying to see the people in your family as they really are. Falco stars as Martha, a kindergarten teacher with a life many would desire, complete with a loving husband and devoted daughter. When Martha decides to leave it all behind, it’s up to her daughter to pick up the pieces.
In addition to Falco, the production stars Frances Sternhagen, Phoebe Strole, John Ellison Conlee, Christopher Evan Welch, Heidi Schreck, Brooke Ashley Laine and Seth Clayton.
The creative team for The Madrid includes scenic designer David Zinn, costume designer Emily Rebholtz, lighting designer Jeff Croiter and sound designer Jill BC Du Boff. The production will feature original music by Tom Kitt.
